Fourteen-year-old Yao is sick of his worn-out shoes which his debt-ridden father cannot replace. One day, following a confrontation with debt collectors, he suddenly buys Yao a pair of expensive sneakers which turns out to be the start of a tragic series of events…
Based on a true story inspired by the director’s past.
LIN Po-yu graduated from the Department of Motion Picture at the National Taiwan University of Arts. His short films, Growing Pains and To the Sea were screened at various international film festivals. He is now preparing for his next film project.

Mr. Yan’s mistress suffers from dementia and lives in a nursing home. Upon learning about her husband’s infidelity, Mrs. Yan plans her revenge and takes her husband to visit the mistress. After seeing her, Mr. Yan runs away, but Mrs. Yan must get him back for their son’s wedding…
Chienn Hsiang is one of the country’s leading cinematographers, known for his beautiful style. His first feature as director, Exit (2014), showcased the poetic flow of his cinematographic style and was screened at many international film festivals.

Part of Chen Yi-Wen Retrospective

You may know him from the many supporting characters he has portrayed in Taiwanese films and TV series, but Chen Yi-Wen’s career is more complex than that. After graduating from the Taipei National University of Arts, he became a frequent collaborator to Edward Yang. He has since shown a great talent in not only acting, but also in playwriting, screenwriting and directing. This special retrospective presents Chen’s acting debut and more recent titles, as well as his work as a director.
